I am a Christian who believes Terri should be allowed to die... Am I the only one?

It may very well be a lie, but without evidence that it's a lie, what's a judge to do?

Err on the side of life.

She is only 'guilty' of not dying at the convenience of her husband. Starving / dehydrating her to death is wrong. We treat convicted murderers and rapists and child molestors better than this and give them more legal protection.

Since the parents are willing to take on the burden and expense in face of this doubt, why shouldn't they get to be with their daughter? He can just take the money and go off with his hussy and have more kids and more affairs.

There is no nobility or honor in what he is doing. He just wants her dead.

I've read it all, I've watched the videos. I'm not convinced that there's any there there.

The claims against the husband are so far-out and outrageous that many of them have to be fabricated. I know nursing homes, I know the medical system and how things work, and I highly doubt she was truly denied any therapy that would have done much more for her than maintain her current level of ill health and brain function lower than that of most vertebrates. The quacks I've seen quoted as being able to "heal" her are just that - quacks.

The woman who supposedly came out of a coma after 20 years recently had been able to answer yes-no questions by blinking for years. That's not a vegetative state. I've seen how news reporters and sympathetic journalists report any stories having to do with medicine, stories I know the details of from first-hand experience. What came out in print and the actual events were so unrelated to each other you wouldn't have recognized anyone.

I hear you.

No human being knows with certainty what Terri wants.

I think you summed it up best. May God's will be done.

If I were Terri and you did this to me I'd tell God I didn't want to be in heaven if I had to share it with you. The phrase 'a fate worse than death' is not a joke. People like you define the term 'dogooder'. Someone who inflicts great harm while all the while telling you how much they care about you. May God save us from Judases like you.

And I know hospitals and nursing homes and my experience is the opposite of yours. I also know that there are cheating husbands who will kill their wives. Then throw a few million dollars on the table just for fun. Do you think that a million or two or even a half a million isn't strong motive for a guy with a new love interest and 2 new children? Some guys would do it for a few grand.

This guy is dirty just like bill clinton was dirty and you've got the same courts that thought that algore won ruling on her life. Get serious. Save Terri.

If you would let Terri die like this, I doubt that there'd be a place for you in Heaven in the first place.

You are ignoring the obvious conflicts of the 'husband' and are willing to have her killed in the most inhumane of ways. How dare you presume that she wants to die? How dare you deny her parents their child? She'll die eventually. What's your hurry to kill her? She's committed no crime and there is no incontrovertible proof of her desire to die. Why do you want to see her dead?

You two are so out of line. Twisting her words, demonizing her unnecessarily, both of you should be ashamed.

"I perceive your newly-minted screen name is phoney-baloney religious smokescreen, not fooling many of us."

"Get the Newbie!!!"

Just to clarify... she's been here for 2 *years*. And her posting history looks pretty clean.

A *lot* of us are "shooting first and aiming later", here.

Twisting her words? She said them. Too bad she doesn't understand the implications of what she is saying. Demonizing? I caught her in a double standard as well.

I think you would do well to keep your advice and ill informed opinion to yourself.

Actually she would not have died in the absence of the feeding tube. She could be fed by mouth.

Where are earth did HOTD even hint that she was imposing anything on others?

She clearly stated her own scenario for her own preferences.

You are really doing a job taking her statements out of context.

Why?

I only know that if it was me, I would, without a doubt, NOT want to be kept alive this way

What do your wishes for yourself have to do with Terri Schiavo?

I was glad that the Pope spoke out about this very issue recently. All life has value, regardless of how we as individuals may feel. Feelings change, but right and wrong do not.

Target-rich environment. I look forward to your grouping on this target when I review the carnage tomorrow.

So you openly admit you are just here to twist words for trolling?

There is no dignity in a death that involves starving and refusing hydration to a person. It is a horrible way to die.

Exactly, Lauralee and before there were feeding tubes, the FAMILY fed them if they were able to be fed as Terri is/was.

I do so agree with ALL you have said.

and that she deserves to have a chance to make that known...

Totally agree. She should have the CHANCE, not killed because her husband (who lives with another woman, has kids, and has gotten a lot of money) says she should go. Especially after takign away all her rehab.
