There is NO WAY the Dems will go for this. It'll be DOA in the Senate (filibuster!!). They'll demagogue this into the ground, as if requiring proof of identity is akin to a poll tax or a literacy test. They'll say people will be disenfranchised on a technicality (they forgot or lost their ID). They'll say the poor will be unfairly targeted by such a measure, due to their living in squalor, they can't possibly be expected to keep track of their ID.

It's going down.
