Senator Kerry, Denial Isn't Just a River in Egypt

Senator Kerry, Denial Isn't Just a River in Egypt Posted Thursday, February 10, 2005 Only experiencing a few presidential elections in my life time, I thought the losing candidate was supposed to fade into oblivion. Bob Dole, though still visible as a pundit on some news stations, was relatively quiet following his defeat in 1996. Al Gore, apparently sulking in defeat at McDonald's, faded from the public eye for the first two and a half years of Dubya's presidency, only to re-appear as an angry vitriol spewing lunatic. Still yet, he had all but disappeared. Despite some efforts to "Re-Elect Gore in 2004" most of America had forgotten about the robotic former Vice President.

As heated as 2000 was, the 2004 election was a unique one in American history. I wondered whether or not Senator Kerry would quietly go back to being the junior Senator from Massachusetts, obstructing votes and judicial nominees with his pal Teddy. Although he was somewhat visible after his sound defeat on November 2, Senator Kerry had been just where he belonged- on the foot notes of American history.

Apparently, he's gearing up for another run for the White House in 2008. One is left to wonder why the vacillating, northern liberal would even consider, seeing as to how the mantra of his "supporters" was, "Anybody but Bush." The hateful rhetoric of the left leading up to November 2, 2004 was enough to make anybody seem electable to them. Senator Kerry just happened to be in the right place at the right time... with the right connections.

Looking through news articles about the Senate confirmation hearings for Condoleezza Rice, I noticed she was confirmed by a vote of 16-2. One of the two that voted against her confirmation was John Kerry. It's obvious to me now that he's pandering to the left once again, after a failed attempt to present himself as a centrist. He realized that putting on hunting gear and pretending to be in favor of the 2nd Amendment was not going to get him a W (pun intended), so now he's going to try his very hardest to do what he does best: flip-flop.

I ran across an article on USNews.com about the state of the Democratic party. Lo and behold, John Kerry had a lot to say. Kerry said, "On every issue that speaks to the qualities of people's lives, we won and will continue to win." Wrong, Mr. Kerry. You lost, which is why the Republicans currently hold a majority in both houses of Congress, Governorships, and the White House. If you had won on every issue, we'd be referring to you as President Kerry.

Kerry lost the election in part because he was an elitist liberal snob, something that a lot of Democrats have realized. A lot of Democrats, including outgoing chairman Terry McAuliffe also realize that the Democratic party is doing something wrong. Bill Daley, Al Gore's campaign chairman in 2000, also recognizes the mistakes of his own party, even admitting that Democrats have no agenda or vision for the future. "Do I see that the Democrats are on some grand march with programs and ideas that will motivate people? No." (Daley)

Once again, John Kerry pipes in with his unusual optimism. He claims the only reason he lost to President Bush was due to the tragic events of September 11, claiming that Republicans are the ones without vision for the future. "They are the ones that ought to be worrying," he said. If memory serves, Republicans weren't the ones that turned the election into a partisan blood bath. We have Michael Moore and his ilk to thank for that.

Kerry also says that fellow Democrats' claims that the party doesn't know what it stands for anymore is "hogwash." The Senator said, "We stand for children, not for tax cuts for the wealthy. Our values? Our values are not encouraging jobs to go overseas."

Probably more than any other single quote that Senator Kerry has said, his claim that his wife was given a bad rap during the campaign has to take the cake. In a political campaign, it's not wise to tell a reporter to "shove it." Whether or not her comments were taken out of context is a matter of opinion, but any way you look at it, Teresa Heinz Kerry had a negative impact on her husband's bid for the White House. Since Senator Kerry is so concerned about the perception of political figures' family members within the media, he should urge tabloids and other gossip magazines and newspapers to keep their paws and their print off the Bush girls.

John Kerry continues to lie about why he lost the election and will continue to do so until he gets stomped again in 2008, probably in the primaries. Some of us just never learn.

Well Al Gore did some soul searching and finally found himself after spending a couple years in the old Unabomber shack:
