How about YOU fix ME up with a publisher , for my Christian-based, technothriller novel,"Final countdown" that I wrote, and copyrighted, that does not expect me to fork over a bunch of money, to self-publish?

Yeah, I know what you mean about self publishing. Someone tried to get me to publish with Publish America and there was a recent FR thread about what a scam Publish America is.

I ALMOST committed to PA, uintil a kind Hairstylist informed me, on how much of a scam they were. I actually had their "boilerplate" contract, in my hands, had it checked by a Lawyer, and he warned me against going ahead with it. Still, I ALMOST did, until this woman overhaerd me talking about it, and told me of her WASTE of THOUSANDS of her own dollars to them. That was enough. If I ever do get a legimate publisher, I will NOT forget her.

There was a recent Publish America thread here on the FR discussing the scam. However, the BEST way to discover if ANYTHING is a scam is just to check it out in Google Newsgroups search engine. I did just that and found LOTS of people complaining about Publish America. Oh, and I did it with many other things as well. Rule of thumb is if lots of folks are complaining about a product or service in the newsgroupls then be VERY wary of it.

Hey, PJ! Self-publish, advertise here on FR and cut them in for a share of the profits! You'll be helping yourself, FR, and maybe you'll get picked up by a publisher also (at which point your FR first edition becomes a collectors' item.)

One big problem about self-publishing is that it costs me at least $20,000 upfront just to pay the cartoonists for the CD-ROM comix. Nope. Not going that route. I want to put all my energy into making the book, NOT marketing it.
