I wonder if any of the DUmmies saw the interview with the native American spokesman on Bill O Reillys show last night.

He refused to call what happened to the American Indians "genocide" and also refused to equate it with the holocaust.

I think what happened to the Indians was an inevitable clash of cultures and they were out manned. In many places the Indians and the new settlers co existed and got along OK. My grandmother remembers that in the 1860's when she was a small child in east Texas, the Indians would come to her house. They stood around in the yard and when my great grandmother went out they told her "me want coffee, me want sugar". Ggranny would fix coffee and take it out to them and then they would leave. They were very peaceful people, had they taken ggrannie's scalp or stolen one of the children they would haven been hunted down. In the hill country of Texas I have read that the Indians and the settlers did not fare so well. The Indians in the hill country were Apaches and in east Tx they were Choctaws.
