Completely agree. This I suffered from childhood. The 30+ years of formal education only made things worse for me. I try to fight it - and I routinely fail. Shoot me.
I had the fun of being in the military for awhile where drawn out descriptions are the norm.
For example, you can't say "He has a bullet wound", you have to say "ballistically induced arpeture in subcutaneous tissue" which I guess makes the brass happy but lengthens the time spent in remedying the issue.
So once in a blue moon, I too suffer from drawn out descriptions.
I have to consciously say it in the most direct and simplest form.
And with my suspect typing skills.. I typo and the whole thing ends up being funny.
Good thing I have a sense of humor about it.
