I am a Christian, I am a mother at school and I don't hate other Christians or other groups either as I don't believe that's a Christian value. However, I do not agree with what Williams was doing. I pay him to teach history, science and math, not religion. I go to church every Sunday for that and don't trust teachers to teach it well. Would you? How do you know a teacher would not put his or her own imprimatur on what he says in class about religion? Would you trust me to teach history to your kids and not go overboard on my own beliefs? Do you think a math test that posses the question "God+ Jesus=" is an acceptable question in a public school?
Stop branding people. That's the recourse of the nonthinking. It's easier to put people in boxes than to think of the issue.
