"Click to Hear Rest Awhile In Your Arms"

Fellow Freepers forgive this vanity but when I need the truth, this is where I go.

I am a songwriter and am wondering whether or not I need to pack it in. Nothing is sadder than seeing someone trying to do something they are not good at, and not realizing they have no clue they shouldn't be doing it at all.

I knew I wasn't a great vocalist but I really thought I was a decent writer in the country gospel market. After several recent "near misses" I am wondering if my songs will never make it to the next level. Maybe my attention should be directed elsewhere.

So if you would listen to the songs at the above link and tell me what you think it will help me make my mind up. The song must not just be good, it must be one you would like to own it if it was performed by a major artist. That is the question I need the answer to. I know everyone is busy but I appreciate your time. This is country gospel so if you just hate that form of music you don't need to respond. Thanks Bluecollarman

I thought the link was awful. I couldn't hear the song more than 2 seconds without it delaying. Maybe if you post the text of the words, we'll at least be able to judge your writing ability. But for me, for now, it's a no.

Ha my favorite judge! Thanks, I guess I should have mentioned you would have to have high speed connection to hear it properly.

Thanks.

Can't find anything wrong and had some friends check it. I don't know what was wrong unless there was a lot of request for the file or it was a firefox browser issue but I appreciate your input. Here are the words.

Rest Awhile
Verse
Oh Jesus can I lean on you?
I'm surely going to fall.
I'll never make it on my own,
This times the worst of all.

(mini Bridge)
This kind of burdens to much to bear
Hey lord it'll give you my best prayer

Chorus
Meet me, on a mountain somewhere.
Things will be better if we can go there
In the valley low trouble all swarm
Can I come to where you are?
And rest a while in your arms?

Restore me Lord and give me peace
I need to feel you close to me.
let me rest there and I'll be fine
in your arms there's peace of mind.

(mini Bridge)
Pick me up please just for a while,
like a father does a growin' child.

Chorus
meet me on a mountain somewhere
things are much better when we can go there.
Can you raise me high safe from all harm?
Can I climb to where you are?
and rest awhile in your arms.
rest awhile in your arms.
rest awhile in your arms.
