What is strangest in this whole episode is how far, how fast, Martin Frost has fallen.. few years ago.he was a senior Dem in the House..repsected in the caucus...viewed as a centrist by his peers. When Gephardt was deposed, he ran against Pelosi.lost badly..he could not get any support from the Black Caucus..and she refused him a position in the leadership...They he was redistricted out of his seat, though I do admire him for fighting the campaign, as opposed to retiring..like many of the other Texas dems did..Frost stood his ground, and lost..so, he runs for the DNC chair..he's eminentlymqualified, and in the post-mortems of 2004, the party is supposedly looking to redirect itself towrds the red states, flyover country..a new iage..and lookie here..not that Dean wins..but that little ole Donnie Fowler get 10 time the votes that Frost gets. That is bizarre..and that is why the Dem party is kaput..

Martin Frost has certainly served his party and his country well. He's just not 'MTV' enough or net savvy enough to compete against Dean. That's what it's come down to, and Frost was too obsolete to keep up. I agree. a sad day.

Sam Nunn, Martin Frost, Ben Nighthorse Campbell, even Al Gore before he redid himself as a New Democrat. There really was a time when intelligence and dignity were still prerequisites to leading the so-called Democratic Party.
