Nu, patsan, ty oshibsya!

"This is a russian web site for poets and novelists and the translation clearly states that it will be illegal to criticize govt officials by name."

Please explain to me and others who speak Russian why you have translated the phrases: "Ne dopuskaetsya" and "Zapreshaetsya" into stating that it is an "ILLEGAL" act. Ne dopuskaetsya means that they (the website) will not ALLOW/PERMIT the aforementioned writing. "Zapreshaetsya" means that it is FORBIDDEN on that site to post the aforementioned types of correspondence. FYI, when Russians refer to something being ILLEGAL they ALWAYS post the paragraph, subparagraph, and legal act which makes an activity unlawful. There is no such law, so there is no such reference. Once again, the site is moderating the content on it and does not reference any Russian legal statute. Furthermore, if you knew Russians, you would know that if such a legal statute existed they would certainly reference it in order to provide themselves "cover" for any criticism they may receive due to this controversial measure.

Do I need to post all of the Russian websites that allow such types of writing. Will that prove to you that it is not illegal to do so?

A little word of advice, before you state that something is "clearly stated" on a website, I highly suggest you invest in some Russian language courses with a focus on translation. You obviously are weak in this area.

As far as giving up my day job. I don't think so. I'm doing an outstanding job, if I do say so myself. Tell the John Birch Society I said hello.

You are very correct and that has been a practice from the Tsars on down, to make sure the Prosecutors didn't have grounds on you. Further, the Russian word for illegal is Nelegalnayo or ProtivZakonaya (against the law). The whole first paragraph was ignored from the linked document too, which explained it's company policy.
