And lawyer revenue too! The increase in the penalty will definitly put a hell of a lot more people in court that would otherwise just pay the fine... The troopers there in the past have always been pretty standup guys. If you got bagged for going really fast, but traffic was nil, car well kept and you weren't a dick, they'd write the ticket below the 20 mph over-limit that put you into the 6 point reckless zone. They enjoyed the opportunity to "maish it to the floor and let 'er eat" in the cruiser...
