Am I the only one to notice a striking difference between DUers and Freepers in regards to how people on the opposite side of the political spectrum are tolerated?

I've never seen Freepers disown their children or cut off their relatives simply for being liberal. My liberal boyfriend also has a much harder time accepting my politics than vice-versa. I think it has to do with the fact that with public education and Hollywood and TV, conservatives are regularly exposed to liberals, but it's very easy for liberals to grow up in a liberal echo chamber.
