After you've fixed the admin issue, create a second screen name with full administrator privileges and password access. This will be your back door entrance to your main account, in case something happens and your password won't work.
You can change any account's password from any administrator's account manager in the control panel.

xp home. I forgot my password (brainfart) and had to go through my wife's account to reset the password on my account. That's the definition of panic; when you're locked out of your own computer.
