Wanna sign up to bring back The Fairness Doctrine? I did! I signed "Ronald Reagan". In the comment section I wrote, "I can't wait to bring back the Fairness Doctrine! I'll be in the chair beside Dan Rather everynight!"
Giving both sides of the issue is more than a fifty-fifty proposition. A great deal of times the percentages for the pro or con are more diverse, seventy-thirty, eighty-twenty... and when trying to be fair and balanced, the media makes it look like both sides are equal, when they are not.
How do you propose to work out that difference?
I don't. The thing is the DUer's and other sick liberals think they can "get" talk radio by bring back the doctrine. It won't work out like they think because a new day has dawned. We, the intelligent and conservative, will be monitoring all news outlets for liberal bias and be demanding equal time on all networks and cable outlets. NPR alone will have to give up half their day to conservatives. It's a door that swings both ways.
I thing the doctrine is a stupid idea (no wonder liberals love it). But the Whiney Bunch better step back and take a good look at what they are hoping for. This isn't 1985, and the Fairness Doctrine will no longer benefit only the left.
