These idiots need to go learn (and to understand) what "Inverse Square Law" means...
Is that the one where the gravitational force between to objects decreases exponentially with respect to distance? It's been a long time since college. If that's the one, there's a similar equation for the force between electrical charges.

I always get a kick when the TV shows people up in the top of a big stadium -- popping their little photoflashes at a subject hundreds of yards away... '-)
