OK, I can deal with making fun of mullets and the Guido cars, but Flock of Seagulls, and the Human League rock, well maybe not rock per se, but are still quite fun to listen to. Now The Cure, they are a bunch of freaks.

In the early 80s I was still listening to Zeppelin myself (I was a recent convert from ELO) and resisted alot of the 'synth' pop stuff. I did, however, like some of the new wave synth stuff that was played on rock radio here in Detroit.

Some examples of the synth-based rock stuff that was played on rock radio that I liked:

Flock of Seagulls
Split Enz
The Kings (remember "Switching to Glide"? - real big in Detroit)
The Cars (of course)
The Sherbs ("Because We Ride", "No Turning Back")

I'm sure there were others........
