"So, we should sit on our hands and do nothing while the Democrats steal a state governorship in plain sight."

If by do nothing you mean ask for a re-vote, then yes - do nothing. Otherwise, learn from this. Make sure all of your votes are counted next time, something that apparently wasn't done this time.

I disagree with this analysis: Asking for a revote may not be dump if Rossi follows up with a demand that ALL Counties be Recounted just like King County.

The Dems truly did an Al Gore Cherry Pick in King county and mined enough, stinking of fraud, votes.

Rossi has to prove his mettle and give them the one/two punch.

Wrong. I disagree. Rossi needs to ask for another vote like in the Ukraine. Robbing voters of their God given, Constitutionally protected rights is wrong and someone needs to set an example.

Why the hell do think that any Republican is going to to send money to his campaign if he does not fight? Stealing is stealing.

He may have stated this in his press conference, but where is the action being taken? If the cheating Democrat is certified, it will be too late. This case needs to be taken to the courts ASAP, and eventually to the USSC just like the 2000 Florida case. All counties must count the same way, and all votes must be counted, including the military. The Republicans have never had a backbone when it comes to fighting for political survival.

The better course for Rossi would have been to accept the voters decision

While I can agree with most of your points, I think the bigger point is that there is a major question as to whether or not this was the voters' decision.

The problem with your scenario is that WA reelected Murray to a third third, and if it did that ridiculous thing, it will surely give Cantwell a second term. Don't Murray and Cantwell agree on EVERYTHING? There is no opening for Rossi to run statewide in 2006. WA is hard-core Democrat and will remain that way. It's been hard-core Democrat since it voted for HHH 36 years ago.

I hope you are right. It does seem possible that he has raised a good fighting point. Since some people in King County "discovered" that their vote didn't count, it should be only logical that others can now "discover" that their votes also didn't count. I hope that Rossi digs in and fight to the end.

As much as I like what you usually post, and your desired effort to take back NH for the GOP, I gotta disagree with you here, friend. Republicans decide to play hardball for a change and we're worrying about whether we are behaving like the gentlemen we were in SD?

It's a state-level extension of FL "equal protection" issues of 2000 Bush v. Gore, and I would not be surprised if this can also by such extension be made a Federal issue. Recall that civil rights protections arose from bigotries associated with state applications of state laws.

The environment in WA is sooo different than in either of those 2 far more conservative areas. Particularly in SD, you could be a Thune and live to fight another day to take take down a bigger prize -- Daschle. Cantwell's win in 2000 by 2000 was clearly done by vote buying and theft. Republicans can take her down in 2006, because she doesn't have the $ this time, and Reps could possibly persuade Dunn to run against her. I think Dunn would win too.

In WA the entire Dem party is in the hot seat here. Rossi has put them into a corner where to deny the revote de-legitimizes everything about their party's governance. Seattle Times polls show that 68% of those polled believe Rossi won. It's the Ukraine without the poisoning of Rossi. If Republicans don't bare their knuckles on this their credibility as fighters will be damaged from this election forward.

Electoral theft and vote fraud is the only Dem game in WA. How does one intend to embolden the people of the state to oppose the Dem tyranny when we are so willing to dis the Rep leadership when they finally show the necessary fortitude to take on "the machine?"

What I love about FR is the intelligent people and debate you get from everyone. All of you, save one, disagree with the opinion in our article, and have all made excellent and valid criticisms of the position taken in it. Keep it coming. It's a tough call for Dino either way and none of us will know if we're right for a while.

BTW - Agememmnon - I'm not the one being asked to take back NH for the GOP. That's my writing partner at crushkerry.com, Pat Hynes. His freep screen name is Kerry Crusher, and he was the one on Hannity and Colmes the other night and The Mike Gallagher Radio Show yesterday.

If the cheating Democrat is certified, it will be too late.

My understanding is that ANY qualified voter can appeal the certification within 10 days afterward.

Moreover, Rossi has taken a step that actually makes Gregoire look like the adult in this process. The Gregoire campaign’s reaction was swift, brutal and politically smart: "This ain't golf. No mulligans allowed here, folks," said Gregoire's spokesman, Morton Brilliant. "It's irresponsible to spend $4 million in taxpayer money on a new election just because you don't like losing this one."

In this article, the author admits that he "wrote an article about how the Democrats stole the election" but says that is now trumped by worries about "looking like the adult".

What is so "adult" about putting "looks" over tolerating theft?

In the U.S. military academies, every cadet is expected to live by the code of honor that they "will not lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do".

I, personally, do not know enough the inside details about the election to write an article describing how, exactly, the Democrats "stole it". I may strongly suspect that the Democrats stole it but I have no evidence to declare with certainty that they did and how they did it.

If I were certain enough that the election was stolen to make such a declaration, there would be no way I would drop the matter because of "looks".

We either have a stolen election or we don't.

If you are certain that the election was stolen, then you fight to the bitter end as Viktor Yushchenko did in Ukraine. That is the honorable and "adult" thing to do.

If you are not certain that the election is stolen, then you do not write articles declaring and describing "how the Democrats stole the election".

"This ain't golf. No mulligans allowed here, folks. It's irresponsible to spend $4 million in taxpayer money on a new election just because you don't like losing this one."

By this analysis, Viktor Yanukovych's spokesman in Ukraine should have simply made that "swift, brutal and politically smart" statement and Viktor Yushchenko should just have put his tail between his legs and allowed the Ukraine election to remain stolen.

The author was either off base on his first article or this second article but he can't have it both ways. You can't truthfully claim a theft and then allow it to stand because of "looks" and still claim "adulthood".

I believe Rossi knew FULL WELL Gregoire would NOT go for a Revote......NOW they will bring forward the FRAUD.....and he can say....we ASKED for a RE-VOTE, but YOU made us DO THIS! Those of you NOT living in Washington, the State, do not UNDERSTAND what is going on here. Rossi is NOT interested in HIS political career....

Brilliant, Brilliant!

Gregoire already had two mulligans. Now she wants to deny her opponent one?

I believe that you are right. He has too much integrity to worry about his own future, but is worried about the life of our system of government. Although I don't agree with a revote, the Ds are going to have a hard time agreeing to it as they will have to convince many of the reluctant voters to get out and vote again, stuff ballot boxes, resurrect the dead, etc. Poll watchers will be ever-so vigilant for misdeeds. I am concerned that a lot of people will or will not vote that voted last time around. The outcome is completely unknown. The media has painted both candidates to be whining, but I think that Rossi has looked much better throughout it all.
The Ds will need to find even more homeless people to register at the Courthouse and bus them from place to place...the false id presses will be cranking out fake ids and ballots in record numbers.

God Bless Governor Rossi.

While Rossi is busy taking the "high" road, The Democrat will be practicing her inaugural address.

I'm beginning to think we need a conservative party which will fight, instead of the wimpy-ass RINOs like Rossi.

Completely wrong.

Too many people assume Dino is some run-of-the-mill career politician, trying to get in on the gravy train. In that scenario, one office will be as suitable as the next.

But Dino is trying to save the State of Washington. Becoming a U.S. Senator does nothing in that regard.

Fraud of this magnitude (King County has nearly 4,000 more votes than voters) cannot be abided. He must fight on. A revote is the only fair way to settle this.

"Thune's loss wasn't after 3 counts of the ballot, the first 2 of which were won.

Exactly. There is nothing in common with Thune. These pin heads got it all backwards. You don't loose credibility when you have won two state wide counts and then 1 county happens to "stumble across" some 700 plus ballots on the 3rd count in a socialist county! Bring it on Rossi and wear Orange!
