Here are a few more ideas. I've bought these seeds locally (at Frank's Nursery & Crafts, which is now out of business chainwide).

Lake Valley Seeds (no online retail sales):
http://www.lakevalleyseed.com/
(look here for Christmas Beans)
http://www.lakevalleyseed.com/2006pdf/Packet.pdf

I just found this with a websearch:

Whatcom Seed Company
http://seedrack.com/indexw.html

I've picked up some seeds at WalMart in recent years, just a few that I couldn't find otherwise, such as Roman Chamomile (that's the perennial kind). In fact, I did go a week or so ago to look for Roman Chamomile, and found it, and bought a couple packets. I think I got a couple of others.

I have nothing against WalMart, but would encourage gardeners to shop around online or out of catalogs arriving in the mail rather than get their seeds at WalMart.

The WalMart website wouldn't show me a seed-ordering page.

Charentais (I think I've got seed around for this anyway)
Noir de Carmes

Projects this year include a variety of melons, more soup beans (Hutterite, in particular), and Stuffing tomatoes. :')

alas, out of stock...

ZATTA ME08-HM) ZATTA (71 days) Probably one of the rarest heirloom melons in the World! By far our greatest discovery, and the focus of our seed saving efforts for rare heirloom varieties. Reintroduced into the United States by Bill McKay of Seeds of Italy and us Harvest Moon Farms & Seed by discovery of its existance by a company in Bergamo, Italy. believed to be Jefferson's reference in 1774 as the "Canteloupe Massa", also believed to be recorded in Vilmorin's "The Vegetable Garden" in 1885 as "Early Cantelope". Considered lost by many even to this day. We only know of 3 other sources throughout the world for it today. Dates back as far as 1754 in Literature. Do not confuse with "Prescott Fond Blanc" as Zatta is not as flattened and in opinion by many much more beautiful, sweeter, and tastier, does not slip when ripe. The ugliest melon we have come across in a long time! However, this has become our favorite! From Italy known as "Brutto ma Buono" or "Ugly but Tasty" you can not imagine such flavor! Our finest melon!! Expect the best from us, Harvest Moon Farms!! 100 seeds - $2.25

Cigar smoke is marvelous for keeping pests away. Especially leftists.

Nice set of melons, but as a Washingtonian, I get more excited about Federalist melons. ( :~D

FelcoPruners (Harvest Moon) has a hideously bad ordering page. I'll post here regarding whether my order actually winds up getting processed (or doubled, or tripled).

Is there a gardener ping list? I sure would like to read threads on gardening. I am getting set up now for seeding. I am expanding my greenhouse this year.
It is a bit early but the catalogs have given me the fever pretty bad.

The FelcoPruners order must have disappeared. I'm going to see if they have a phone number so I can try ordering that way and to tell them their online ordering is crap.

Also, I requested a catalog from Orel Leddon, and got bupkis.

The apparent reason Zatta or "Brutto ma Buono" is out of stock at Felco is a crop failure. These rare varieties are likely to have production problems. Anyone have seed from last year? You'll be the only ones growing it. ;')
