Political tourism: Venezuela, the new fraudulent destination
Venezuela Today ^ | Dec. 13, 2004 | Gustavo Coronel

An organization called Global Exchange, based in San Francisco, promotes political tourism to Venezuela, defined in its brochure as a country where "winds of change are blowing." The introduction to the sales pitch is full of praise for the strongman Hugo Chávez, while all references and links recommended to those who might be interested are those known to be shameless propaganda appendices of the Venezuelan regime: Venezuelanalysis.com, VHeadline.com and such. Chávez's agenda, reads the brochure: "includes fighting corruption, redistributing national wealth and opposing the Free Trade Area of the Americas." My laughing aloud gave way to indignation when the brochure added: "The new vision is guided by Simón Bolívar's dream."

This sale of Venezuela as a place where a true democratic revolution is taking place is just part of the Venezuelan regime propaganda machine, ran from Washington, DC by the Venezuelan Information Office (VIO), financed by the regime through the Venezuelan Embassy.

Thousands of oderiferous leftists are descending down like flies on that big pile of something bad-smelling known as Hugo Chavez. Gustavo Coronel, a fine essayist, issues a reply to these leftist scumbags who are filthying up his country with their sanctimonious preaching. It's just sickening what they are doing there.

Eh, eventually right-thinking Venezuelans will wise up and toss their sorry butts out. Or not. In the meantime, think of it as a sort of reverse brain-drain - they're taking on our most worthless and non-productive citizens, so everyone say a little prayer of thanks for the Venezuelans tonight.
