START OF THE MONDAY QUARTERBACKING DECISION:
4:00 p.m. PT
In an apparent move to avoid the crowd of reporters and citizens outside the courthouse, the jurors are taken out of court through an underground parking garage instead of their usual exit on the sidewalk. Beth Karas and I are standing outside the garage when the two sheriff's vans pull out. I can see the Teamster seated in the front passenger seat of the first van. A photographer from the Modesto Bee is standing with us and he begins taking photos. The court officer driving the first van slams on the brakes and leaps out of the vehicle. He stomps over to the photographer, Al Golub, while shouting, "Did you take a picture?" He stammers, "I did." The officer orders him to hand over the disc from his camera. He offers to delete the image, but the officer snaps, "I don't have time, buddy." He grabs the disc and gets back in the van. The van pulls away, brakes sqealing. The second van follows. In the front seat, Strawberry Shortcake is roaring with laughter. Harriet Ryan
3:35 p.m. PT: Deliberations end for the day.
False alarm. Delucchi announces that "the jury has been asked to be excused for the night. They'll be back Monday morning 8 o'clock." No verdict this week. Harriet Ryan
3:33 p.m.
Minutes after defense lawyers came to the courtroom, prosecutors arrive at court. The judge is here in his robe. Looks like something is going down. Harriet Ryan
3:05 p.m.
Just minutes ago, the courtroom was atwitter because Stanislaus County District Attorney James Brazelton took a seat in the courtroom. Does it mean something? Is a verdict near? Those questions quickly fade as Brazelton walks out of the courtroom. The bailiff, who has been walking in and out of the judge's chambers, tries to reassure nosy reporters that he's just "doing some housekeeping." "Because I'm running around doesn't mean anything happens," the bailiff says. "It doesn't mean nothing's happening," someone shouts back. Harriet Ryan....
DA Brazelton HAS arrived...
"All this LUNCH menu talk has made me hungry.
What are you having?"
Me too! I'm thinking grilled swiss on rye. (I like a slice of tomato in there too!)
Boy, are you fast!
Oooooooh, that sounds delicious.
I have both rye and swiss here and
if course, LOADS of butter for the grilling!
And fortunately, I have a tv in the kitchen......of course!
Not me... just the SBC connnection.
Scott sweating....
Yeah!
Lucky you...
I will have a TV in my kitchen
as soon as our move to Vicksburg
is complete.
"All this LUNCH menu talk has made me hungry.

I had a late late brunch of eggos!! LOL they cook in toaster during a commercial...Am I addicted ????
As soon as they announce the arrival of the respective families,
we'll know for certain a verdict has been reached.
All this time invested, and now I'm going to miss the end and the interviews!
I'm coming back as soon as I can!
Had one in kitchen ever since Gulf War I....had to know every moment. THEN I got addicted to court TV with the Menendez trial. Now my hubby works at home and everytime I walk out of the kitchen vicinity he turns tv off. HE'S DRIVING ME NUTS!!!
Just stay home! I'm the queen of excuses.....want one?
Solution to your problem: Move hubby's work area away from kitchen area. LOL
It was over for me as far as anxiety when the GUILTY verdict was announced..I am interested but not anything like before the verdict.
Studying the Peterson family clan and what makes it tick does interest me somewhat..
During the 2000 election mess, my husband knew he wouldn't be getting dinner unless he got me a small tv for the kichen. So I got a very early Christmas gift that year :-)
ROTFLOL!
The nerve of your man! LOL!
Do you have a remote or does he have to get up to turn it off?
There is a hint of a solution in my comment...lol.
Indeed.
Waiting...waiting...and trying to sneak in a little work on the side here.
lol! It wouldn't matter WHERE I moved him....he just likes to turn things off. Lights for example: yesterday I told him I felt like Helen Keller.
Clever girl.
Smart too.
