SATURDAY PROTEST WELLS FARGO Saturday, December 11 Action Report
http://www.saveourstate.org/ ^

Posted on 12/11/2004 7:21:33 PM PST by occutegirl

Protesters with signs and American flags stunned a Temecula Wells Fargo bank when more than 40 protesters greeted arriving customers Saturday, December 11.

Protesters were posted on either side of the entrance/exit driveway and spilled out along the length of the sidewalk.

Signs and flags waved. Signs read:

*The Wells Fargo stagecoach is running across the border, illegally

*Did you know illegals bank here?

*Terrorists open accounts at Wells Fargo (the man with this sign dressed in a Middle Eastern costume)

Bank-goers gawked. Passing motorists honked. The Well Fargo management fumed.

Many Wells Fargo customers spoke to we protesters.

The banks that DO NOT accept the Matricula Consular ID, were listed on a flyer we had printed up, which we distributed. We spoke to customers, who approached us, about illegal aliens' usage of the Matricula Consular ID.

In short, we had the opportunity to educate the general public.

One bank manager frequently stood on the stoop of the bank, arms folded, scowling. A seasoned security guard eventually stood at attention at the bank doors.

We think it is safe to assume Wells Fargo was abuzz with talk of the protest!

Wells Fargo called the police.

An officer walked among us and told us to remain on the sidewalk, which we were, of course, doing. We were polite and courteous to the officer and told her we would comply with all laws. We thanked her.

Fifteen minutes later, Wells Fargo had another police officer come upon the scene. He too walked among us and told us we must remain on the sidewalk. And, again, we assured the officer we would follow all laws. We thanked him.

Our numbers were large enough that we fanned out and covered both sides of the street, as a Bank of America is across the street from Wells Fargo. So we were able to also protest in front of Bank of America too.

Eventually, five counter protests showed up with homemade signs. It was a local, fourth generation Mexican American family, a mother and her adult children, and two Non-Hispanic college students.

We protesters swarmed the counter protesters.

Interestingly enough, as the two groups mixed and calmed down and talked, we discovered we had much in common. The Hispanic family does not approve of MECHA. The Hispanic family, just like we protesters, stated American employers are promoting illegal immigration. The Hispanic family and we protesters agreed that both the Mexican and U.S. governments are to blame for illegal immigration.

The Hispanic family and we protesters found common ground and we ended up on friendly terms!

The protest was a great success. We will be holding future bank protests and will keep you posted on dates and locations. Hope you can join us!

American employers hire illegal aliens because the federal and state governments make it possible. As an employer, you cannot discriminate based on ethnicity or whether or not the future employee can or cannot speak English. You must have the employee fill out an I-9 that requires two forms of identification. Understand that you cannot request to SEE the employee's social security card you can only ASK them to provide a number. Usually, in 6 to 12 months you will get a letter from the Social Security administration stating that the numbers you have do not match information in their files. There are 10 pages of instructions on how to go about obtaining the correct numbers from the employees. Again, you cannot ask to actually see a social security card. It is illegal for you as an employer to do so. As the employer you will most likely go through this same exercise in another few months.

Excuse me, but how is the Wells Fargo Bank dealing with terrorists? I need to know for my folks who live in New Mexico and bank there!

AWESOME report. Exposing unsavory deeds to the light of publicity is crucial to getting things changed. Vermin prefer darkness and secrecy....

I cancelled my account with Wells Fargo several months ago.

As an aside, everywhere in the above thread where you have said, "The bank was furious with 'we protesters',"it should say, "The bank was furious with 'us protesters,' or to make it easier just say, 'us.'

Just got the email. Sounds like you guys made the bank a little nervous. Wonder how many calls went out to corporate today.

BUMP!

Bank of America probably got itchy feet too, eh?

So, about the 40 or so participants. Was this just a better turn out, or were there new converts there?

Had to work this morning, or I would have gone. Next one to be in an Orange County bank?

Santa Ana downtown would be priceless.

;)

Since my post number 3 is not being answered, I can therefore assume this post is not the truth! I need proof of your post being legitimate or else I might see if the FBI can help me to understand if there is truth to your allegations! Grassontop

Maybe you will get additional details but it's my understanding that Wells Fargo facilitates illegals by removing identification and language barriers and by their deliberate location of banking resources. I read about this many months ago in one of their advertisements that all but said, "Illegals, Come Bank With Us."

Wells Fargo is a fine back. They offer a full menu of financial services, from traditional checking/savings to mortgages and credit cards. I've heard nothing but good about them. To think that someone would change the way they banked because of a few disgruntled anti-immigrant folks with nothing else to do on a Saturday afternoon is plum loco. They're in business to make money. The less revenue they get, the more they have to charge for services. These protesters should be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Who are you to be concerned where they locate their banks?

I am concerned about my folks who bank there and I don't feel that they should be banking at a bank that supports terrorists or other illegals folks! Grassontop

These protesters should be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

When institutions the size of Wells Fargo are accommodating illegals, they are part of the problem.

I believe the motivation for that would be...

AlQaida terrorists have been trying to bribe mexican border gangs. Mexican border gangs control people and material smuggling.

It's not that big of a stretch to assume that one or two of the 10,000 or so that cross a day may have alterior motives.

The bank allows people to use an ID that is easily forged to open accounts, transfer funds...etc. It's an open door.

Make sense?

Who are you to defend them, their director of public relations? I'm telling you what I have read in one of their brochures.

Maybe you will get additional details

It would be nice to know for my folks sake! I wouldn't want to go jumping to any wrong conclusions and have the FBI thinking I was a nut case, but then again, I could refer them to this post and let them come up with their own conclusions! Grassontop

Make sense?

Yes! Now, this does make sense! Of course, we all know that the Clintons probably opened the door for all bad folks to come here and do whatever illegal buisness that they can conjur up. Grassontop

Again, you cannot ask to actually see a social security card. It is illegal for you as an employer to do so.

What ?? Never heard of that one....... WHY issue a card if it's illegal for employers to ask to see it??

Most employers I know not only ask for your card, they run a copy to keep in their files.(along with a copy of your photo I.D.)
