Google never surprises me-----time for me to use another search engine!
I don't see that ribbon on my Google page... But beyond that, I am amused that you look to Google's page each day to see if they are projecting proper politics in their logo decorations. :~D
Huh? Where are you seeing this AIDS thing? It ain't there when I go to Google.
Look below where you enter the search terms. Red ribbon. Hover your mouse over it and you will see it is "World Aids Day".
I don't check daily, but when they let Nov 11 go by without a salute to Vets, I was really irritated.
We've got the best soldiers in our history and there ain't anything Google can do about that either.
WRONG!! From Nov 11 FR thread:

It was google U.S.!!!
OK, thanks. I looked through the holiday logos on their site going back to 1999, and apparently, they have never done a logo for Veteran's Day. So it is not a new decision for them.
Still doesn't explain the AIDS day ribbon thing though. It's not there on the US site.
Darn it, It is. It is just below the words "google search" where you send google off to get a search.
I just looked again, it is there!!!
We're not seeing it. It isn't on http://www.google.com/
Post a link to a page that has it.
I even cleared my temporary internet files to be sure I wasn't looking at a cached version.
Not that there's anything wrong with that ;~D

How strange. We are all going to the same site, but mine has the stupid red ribbon. Check the properties on the red ribbon (http://www.google.com/images/ribbon_aids_day.gif).
Paste the link? I would really just like to see the address bar of the page you are looking at.
It's a curiosity.
I click that, there isn't a ribbon.
Well, I'm stumped. Truly curious, it is.
Thanks for this post. I sent them the following email.
Dear Google: I find it completely unbelievable that you would celebrate a man made disease that has been propagated by people that refuse to practice safe sex and yet you had nothing on your site to celebrate our veterans contribution to our safety here in the United States of America.
Not that they will care.
By the way I never buy anything from their links. I just use them to search.
