Any ideas webmasters?

I am trying to get bloggers and other site owners to advertise on my blog. I would rather get advertisers that would benefit from my webspace and I have low rates.

I don't want to use google ads because I think the field is over saturated with google ads. I want to carry ads that are somewhat similiar to google ads. I am using a different company called tagwords but I think I need to get my own advertisers.

Not a problem, except I never got my own advertisers before. Any ideas?

My blog is http://jeffblanco.blogdrive.com and you can see the reserved advertising space to the left.

So what does this have to do with the purpose of Free Republic?

Well, the Free Republic is about ideology isn't it? It's about what we believe, right? I blog about conservatism, or as one person said it, "out freeps the freepers".

I'm not about to make a fortune from this thread, but I am looking for ideas that not only benefit me and my advertisers but other conservative bloggers.

Would you rather I sit at home collecting employment checks from the government as a professional daytime talk show analyst?

quantim, what do you do that you feel the need to knock down others?

Freedom of speech is your right. The Internet is your soapbox.

The Internet is your soapbox.

Maybe.  But FR isn't.  That said, the blogger section seems configured for that sort of thing.

adbrite.com is a place to start. You can list your site and pretty much name the price of your ads.

Dont worry about the people on here that call themselves Conservative and then knock you like only liberals can do.

Joe

Yeah, that's what I thought, what kind of conservative is against the business.

If he knew just how much I am actually going to get from advertisers, he'd laugh and probably purchase advertising. It's not much, just enough to help curb the cost of my internet access.

Goodness they are giving you a fit here, eh?

Although this is the Blogger section and not like breaking news or anything as if your one little post might hurt on this FreeRepublic site allegedly birthplace of the blogger.

Okay, done with run-on sentence.

I have every intention of advertising on my Blog. I have installed a counter and track my statistics every which way. Although I already have my advertising content in that I will be advertising and selling my own writing. I plan to hire a fulfillment company to process my orders, set up a Pay pal account, get me a company credit card. I also plan to hire a web designer for while I do okay with HTML, I don't want to spend all of my time designing a web site when I want to write.

I am, however, interested in PURCHASING advertising space. So, in essence, you might be speaking to me. I intend to purchase space in sites getting the biggest hits. Newsmax, for instance, sells, get this, just for a link, $1,950 a MONTH! This just for a link!

Thus the essence of my advice because before I buy I'm looking for big hits. Draw them to you site, that's the trick.

Blogging's a whole new world and innovative, entrepreneural Americans are jumping on the wagon and dreaming big. I intend to be right up there because guess what? I was born a Blogger.

Indeed there was no such title until this year but when the Dan Rather thing hit I knew I was a Blogger and have been all my life.

Don't let the criticism get you down and don't be defensive. March on my man. And remember me and remember my name. Just so you can say you knew me when as you watch me pontificate on Hardball. ;)
