Amendment I - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Sorry if this has been posted, but I thought I'd remind everyone.

IMO, the key phrase here is... right of the people peaceably to assemble....; if you attack me/us we get to slap you down in spite of your religion, not because of it.

I gotta believe in the Constitution, spent too many years defending it.

And there you are. It's amazing how many folks seem to think that the 1st Amendment only applies to Christians of the more conservative sort. And never mind the rest of the Constitution.

Perhaps they'll listen to you and me and the others on this thread and understand that defending the Constitution means more than defending just one group of citizens or just citizens of one religion or belief system.

I'll stand with you.

How many Constitutional repugnancies are you lying down for at this very moment?

I can start a list and we'd be adding to it for months.

We do not live in a Constitutional Republic, just a dying Republican form of Democracy.

The remainder of the Constitution will be suspended if Muslims or Muhammadans or Islamicists in America step one inch out of line.

So, which do you prefer? Dealing with the problem now, befor it becomes one, or later, after innocent blood in America is spilled?

I've defended it as well, 506. But you've already been attacked and that same ideolgy, as espoused by current fundamentalist Muslim Jihad pronouncements, seeks to take from you all that you hold dear...unless you convert to Islam. Christianity isn't holding a dagger to your throat, so to speak, but the Muslim community who supports Jihad, passively or actively, is what you should be concerned about. That threat is very real and it grows worldwide as you discount it and mock those who try to warn you about its dangers. I don't travel in herds - I just read and react to what I see happening.
