The reason Gov. Barnes was defeated is that he changed the state flag from the confederate battle emblem to some god-awful blue rag. Our new [republican] governor changed the flag back to the pre-battle flag design, which is a nice compromise. Plus, Sen. Max Cleland was defeated because he is a complete idiot.
