I wish they would explain what they mean when they say Bush should have "done something" to avoid 9/11 (he knew it was going to happen, you see, ala the Jamie Gorelicks and DUers of this world), yet decry going to war "needlessly".
I would like to point out to them that if he had "done something", if he had gotten advance word of the specificity of the planned attack (he did not), they would never ever have believed he was acting pre-emptively and preventing what eventually happened.
Never would they have accepted he acted in good faith. They need to come to grips with that and stop saying he should have "done something".
I am not surprised by their poll and the results. It's how I always perceived their "thinking". They would prefer President Bush and us dead and gone or under their control. They project their totalitarian tendencies onto we who are good and honorable.
I pity them.
You mean the depths of sickness.......

This is a stunning example of why we lost Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 08:34 PM by DWolper This way out attitude, I'm afraid, is what contributed to our loss Tuesday. How mainstream is it to believe that an election loss is more depressing than one of the worst days in the history of our land? To carry it out as some are doing is pointless. Example: "11-2-04 is worse because more will die..." That is prophecy that may, or may not, play out. How long do we extend the events of 11-02-04? 6 months? 4 years? 40 years? Comparing 9-11 to an election day that didn't go our way is, I believe, maybe a symptom of that problem with "values" the Republican Party likes to talk about. edit to add question mark.
Fucking sickening. This post shouldn't be in the "Fighting and Acrimony" section, it should be in the "Our Heads Are Too Far Up Our Asses" section.
So many people pounce on the religious right for their zealotry (and with justification), but fail to realize they've elevated politics to their own religion.
(I just realized I used the word "Fuck" in my post. My first here on DU since I joined.)
I almost hate to say this but I'll be glad when the freepers inevitably copy and ridicule this thread. IMHO, it deserves ridicule.
eom
Every one of those vile vermin who voted for 11/03/04 should be forced to move to France. Or better yet, North Korea.
That way they could finally live in a society worthy of them.
Dukeman, is there a way to get this to Rush? Would especially like to hear Rush's comments on the man who will punish his parents by denying them their grandchild because they voted Republican.
Why are so many Dems so emotionally retarded? Charity, temperance, forbearance, virtues of maturity are absent. Natural affections are suffocated by blind, political passions.
It is curious that they express concern for lives that will be lost because of Bush, yet display spite and cruelty to their own parents.
Wow. Some were saying they were "scared" on 9/11? I wasn't scared, I was pissed off. I think that is primarily the difference between those on the right and those on the left.
If you have a horribly violent act intrude on your life, you have 2 choices to make.
1) Be afraid. You are a victim and vulnerable.
2) Be resolute. You are a combatant and aware.
The Liberals choose to be victims and make themselves vulnerable. Conservatives choose to be combatants and more aware of our situation.
No surprise that they all wet their big girl pull-ups when Osama tried to "scare" us last week.
As of this post time, that thread is saved to my profile page in case it's pulled from DU.
The democrats are now one-legged men in an ass kicking contest.

Rush just mentioned this!
I wonder what in the hell these people are going to talk about four years from now, after the fourth consecutive year of eceonomic growth, a stable democratic Iraq, our tropps at home, a toppled regime in Iran. What will they do when their Apocalypse fails to materialize?
Elizabeth Edwards herself and Chris Heinz post there.....Liz has referred to us as "witches"... and Chris doesn't owe George Bush "s*&t"(expletive). Gosh....I just can't imagine why we didn't elect them.
If sKerry had won, it would still have been President Bush's fault, I'm sure, because he brought it on by having the audacity to protect the country rather than be sensitive to the Islamofascists.
At least theri response to having to deal with being losers provides the opportunity for anyone who isn't as crazed with righteous bigotry as they are to clearly see just how crazy they are.
