It just occurred to me that when people like Atrios said OBL was captured a long time ago, but we know he obviously wasn't, how do they reconcile this in their minds?
Which is, of course, the perfect metaphor for Kerry, who doesn't actually flip flop, so much as hold totally incompatible ideas until forced (i.e. caught on tape) to pick one.
Is there anything in physics that could serve as a good metaphor...?

I don't know about physics, but it seems that perfectly lovely and reasonable people take leave of their senses in order to hold the Democratic ideology.
