So, regardless of when the call was made (Friday or Saturday), if Reeve was incapacitated starting on Thursday, the call could not have taken place.OK I can see that. Are there any reports Reeve was incapacitated on Thursday and remained that way until he had his heart attack?

The only report of him being incapacitated on Thursday that I can find is the WHO linked in this thread. All others say Saturday.

Yes it does because Kerry mentions Reeves thanking him for the support in Friday night's debate. So Reeve could have placed the call on Friday or Saturday.

Well now, that means tha call had to be AFTER the debate.
If he was incapacitated and/or comatose, Kerry is having another Chistmas in Cambodia episode.

From his Bio:
http://www.chrisreevehomepage.com/biography.html
"Sadly Christopher Reeve died while in coma after going into Cardiac Arrest on Sunday, October 10th. Reeve was being treated at Northern Westchester Hospital for a pressure wound that he developed, a common complication for people with paralysis. In the week leading up to his death, the wound had become severely infected, resulting in a serious systemic infection

"pressure wound" is more technically descriptive. Reeve lived in a chair, not a bed. What I'm curious about is, with all the money thrown down the rat-hole in health-care, why they don't use better materials for mattresses, thermal foam or water-beds.

CFRA radio in Canada was reporting Thursday; it is a CNN news affiliate.

I would have saved it. Can you imagine having the last voice mail from Christopher Reeves. These may even be his last words. Certainly his last recorded words. This should be playing on all the news stations like they do with 911(emergency) calls.

The only report of him being incapacitated on Thursday that I can find is the WHO linked in this thread. All others say Saturday. Here's that report
The actor fell into a coma on Thursday after going into cardiac arrest at his New York home.
We know Thursday is wrong for the heart attack and every account I've read for the heart attack says the coma happened afterward.
Here's a google news search reeve thursday unconscious OR unconsciousness OR consciousness
It only gives one result in a celebrity column and the word "consciousness" was in an item about Richard Gere.
Celebrity Chatter
It doesn't say if Gere called Kerry. LOL

My PJ'S are always at the ready when truth needs to be told in much the same way that Superman fights evil in all it's various forms. Is that why Clark Kent worked for a newspaper? To fight MSM bias?

This should be playing on all the news stations like they do with 911(emergency) calls. I disagree and frankly it reeks of a Welstone Memorial moment

There was a report quoted that he did not regain consciouness after being taken to the hospital. Thursday is very much in play.Do you have a source that Reeve went to the hospital on Thursday?

First off, I am certain I heard the news radio (a CNN affiliate) report the Thursday date.
Out of curiosity, I just looked at the CNN website.
From yesterday, 10/11, at 9:18 AM EDT.
Reeve went into cardiac arrest Saturday while at his home in Pound Ridge, New York, then fell into a coma and died Sunday at a hospital surrounded by his family.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movies/10/11/obit.reeve.ap/index.html
Four hours later, theres a subtle change:
"Reeve went into cardiac arrest Saturday at his home in Westchester County, New York, after developing a serious systemic infection during treatment for a pressure wound. He slipped into a coma and died Sunday afternoon at a hospital near his home."
http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movies/10/11/obit.reeve/index.html
From the first story, it looks like he slipped into a coma on Saturday. But in the later version, the time of the coma is uncertain.
In any case, even if he didn't fall into a coma until Saturday, its really unlikely Reeve called Kerry, given brief window of time between the debate and his death and given the seriousness of his condition.

It has officially gone down the memory hole!
Here's the original story:
October 11th, 2004 - According to sources close to the actor, Reeve died Sunday. The actor fell into a coma on Thursday after going into cardiac arrest at his New York home.
Reeve is best known for portraying "Superman" in the late 70s and 80s. He also wrote and directed programs for film and television.
In June of 1995, Reeve broke his neck after falling from a horse during a steeplechase race. He was left paralyzed from the accident.
In more recent years, Reeve became a strong advocate of spinal cord research. Reeve was just mentioned Friday in the second live Presidential debate as senator John Kerry spoke of stem cell research.
Reeve was 52.
This is what they are now posting at WHOTV:

If Bush had done this, it would run for years.
Oh, man this will be all over the MSM and will run for days. [/sarcasm, of course]

If dems can raise the dead to vote, taking to a person in a coma is small potatoes.
Remember the great Bob Woodward. He wrote about his conversations with then CIA Director, Bill Casey, who was also in a coma.

From the first story, it looks like he slipped into a coma on Saturday. But in the later version, the time of the coma is uncertain. Both accounts are written poorly. It's safe bet that Reeve didn't call Kerry after the heart attack. Its a more open question whether Reeve called Kerry from home on Friday or Saturday while suffering from a systemic infection resulting from bedsores common to quadriplegics. WHO got Thursday wrong and that's the source the Wizbang report is based on. This alleged "message from Reeve scandal" is not ready for prime time.
