Bill of Indictment - CBS and the Growing Evidence Tampering Checklis
ratherbiased.com ^ | 10/05/04 | BummerDietz

Posted on 10/06/2004 6:23:31 PM PDT by dalight

As Memogate moves out of the journalistic fiasco phase and into a more legalistic phase, the strength of CBS Legal’s Felony Abatement Plan (also known to prosecutors as ‘tampering’) will be put to test.

There is ample evidence of criminal intent by CBS both pre-broadcast and post-broadcast. One as-yet unrealized consequence (other than to CBS Legal) is that communications between a lawyer and client are no longer privileged when the subject matter is furthering a crime or a fraud. The Texas forgery code provides that publication of two or more fake government documents is a felony. Hence, discussions between CBS Legal and CBS producers are fair game – they are not privileged.

This is a few days old but it just showed up on RatherBiased and I looked and looked and cannot find this on FR. This story is Dynomite! Some really interesting explainations for CBS's bizarre behavior. And the links in this story are jewels too!.. honest.. worth digging in.

I have always felt that CBS just thought they could get away with it. And they are just as arrogant now - broadcasting garbage about the draft - KNOWING that the bill was introduced by Democrats, NOT the pubbies. And it was done only to scare kids into voting for Kerry. One-sided as ALWAYS. I say they buy their OWN air waves, WE THE PUBLIC want OURS BACK!

Thats a good question.. but the answer is that FR blocks blogs from being posted in the forums. Makes sense normally but this is really worth while. This guy does a great job of analysis. I was stunned because this makes the incredible saga of CBS's actions then and now make perfect sense. Rather can't admit screwing up and CBS can't say the word forgery or Danny boy and Mary might end up in jail cells.

Indeed he does, and he's been doing it for years. I'd bet he's smirking just a little bit more every day ;^)

BTW, I think I read where FR's search function has a cold today; not functioning very well. It was likely posted but didn't turn up in a search...

We don't need any stinkin' in-house investigation.
We need a prosecutor to call up a grand jury to find out who produced these documents.

One of the internal links tells the story in a blow by blow.. and fairly humorous convolutions of how CBS Lawyers have tried to spin this so that folks might avoid dealing with Prosecutors.

Well, it'll give them a chance to coordinate their lies refine their defense ;^)

Well duh! I just picked up on this. It's a piece posted by a blogger on Ratherbiased.com, NOT a product of theirs. I should maybe follow the source links occasionally??? And you're right, that in no way detracts from the EVIDENCE BummerDietz has assembled.

This is posted by Ratherbiased... but just pointing at this interesting link. I understand why FR just through up their hands on blog server site sources.. but any hard and fast rule has its downsides. But this wasn't posted on Ratherbiased by this blogger .. it was put up in the news section. I am thinking that this topic is running out of steam around here anyway. Perhaps CBS is going to be able to skate this thing afterall.

Good points re the article posting.

I don't think "memogate" skulduggery will get swept under the rug. It may not always stay in the spotlight, but there are enough people working the problem that from time to time it will bubble to the surface as "investigations" proceed. As an aside, I think the Texas Rangers would like to redeem themselves from the trashing they got over the Davidian debacle. Reno's rump rangers and the media(or are they one and the same?) worked 'em over pretty good. I'm thinking payback ;^)
