Opportunity missed
That's how we view last night's debate for the president. It was a chance to put the election away early, but Bush let it get away.
Kerry's answers were essentially 90 second blocks of his stump speech that should have been easy to prepare for. To use a baseball analogy, Kerry was Tim Wakefield, hanging rhetorical knuckleballs (at least he got them over the plate this time) that even a forensic Aaron Boone like Bush should have been able to knock into the bleachers.
