Amoral by whose definition? Bible beaters? Buddhists? Atheists? I think it's ridiculous that I can't buy a pack of beer on Sunday, yet some are so offended by such "amoral" behavior they pressure lawmakers to forbid it. It's that kind of thinking that I have a problem with. Given an unchecked leash the far religious right would basically lobby to make Christianity the official religion of the US, which is the type of persecution that led to this country being formed.

If they're not dead, produce them.

In "The Mirror Maze", James P. Hogan invented a "Constitution Party" that I would vote for in half a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the real-word party is pretty much a gradualist approach to Rushdoony-style "Reconstructionist" politics.
It's kind of interesting how they include a line that David Barton erroneously attributed to Patrick Henry in their platform. It's even more interesting how they call themself the "Constitutional" party when, save for the ambiguous matter of the date, that document nowhere mentions God, Jesus, or the Bible, and indeed protects the right to violate at least three of the Ten Commandments.

Still waiting for it to go 'boom'.

Wrong, someone else called it an analogy, it was meant as an example, and I never compared Bush or Kerry to anyone else. YOU did that, and tried to pin it on me in order to SIDESTEP the question, which of course, would expose that the posters point was without merit.
Lets see if I can dumb this down for you so you can grasp it.
If hypothetically, you lived in a country which had two parties only which were capable of being elected, "A" & "B". "A" party, which had child roasting as it's platform,,,and "B" party, which had child frying as it's platform,,,who would you vote for assuming you didn't want to waste your vote by voting for the "C" party who favored enacting the US constitution as it's platform?
It seems pretty silly to make up such a childish story for the benefit of the purposely obtuse.

On what do you found your fears that the "far religious right" would make Christianity a state religion?
It seems that's what you're most angry about here.
P.S. Amoral does not mean immoral.

That is SO John Kerry 'nuance'esque.
Stop it, you'll hurt yourself.
You used an analogy that was wrong.
Why can't you admit that and try again?
Or do you, like John Kerry, have a problem with admitting something -like Kerry's sudden orange tan being from a bottle.

I'm not trying to change the subject you liar.
You made a poor analogy.
Either admit it, or go back to playing like you think you know something.
Your analogy really WAS comparing the republicans and democrats to nazis and communists.
WHY DON'T YOU GO BACK AND READ IT.
Better yet, I COULD ask teh mods what they think of your terrible analogy?
I would rather NOT go that route.
If you cannot admit you screwed up and your analogy was wrong...
You leave me no choice but to ask others what they think of it.
Or perhaps you were trying to be FUNNY?
