I disagree with you.
LLS
I didn't want to waste my time, but you asked...
1) Biggest TAX CUT in history!!! I expanded my business, and hired three new employees! How many did you hire?
2) Allowed AWB to expire. I know he promised to sign it if passed, but my Senator assured me that he KNEW that Bush did not want it to be sent to his desk!
3) EVERYTHING that he has instituted for HOMELAND SECURITY!
4) Signed ban on PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION!
5) Reduced the amount of red tape I deal with as a "Small Business" owner.
6) Brought belief in GOD back into vogue with the populace. Unafraid to publicly proclaim his faith in GOD!
7) Passed REAL education reform, and has installed mandatory
"Teacher/Student Performance" as a prerequisite to keep Federal Funding.
8) Increased funding for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology!
9) Campaigned for more DOMESTIC ENERGY PRODUCTION!
10) Appointed and successfully lobbied for most of his Judicial Nominees! dims have blocked many, but not a majority of his appointments.
11) Brought patriotism and pride back to America. Healed a Nation after the worst domestic attack ever in our Country's history.
12) Embraced New York, and instilled the confidence in those rebuilding to accomplish their goals!
I could go on, but I think these 12 points are important gains. klintoon never put through a tenth of his Domestic Policy proposals. Bush has kept his promises wherever possible, and we will get the rest in the next four years!

2) The AWB is a wash as he said he would sign it had it got to his desk. The GOP congress gets the credit for not allowing that to happen.
3) The Homeland Security department while needed is not all that wonderful. Including its failure to secure our borders, profile for terrorists at the airport, detain US citizens without charges, and a whole host of other things.
4) He gets another point for PBA
5) Red Tape is still far to thick and getting thicker.
6) This is a personal trait, not a function or action that the Federal Government has taken.
7) Real education reform would be reducing the size, power, and scope of the Education Dept. This has not been done. Infact it has only grown faster than at any other time in our history. This is a HUGE negative.
8) It is not the proper function of the federal government to be funding hydrogen engine research. That should be done by the private sector with private money.
9) Campaigned for domestic energy production. Big freaking deal. When it happens it will be an accomplishment. Until then its nothing.
10) Judges. So what. Clinton appointed and got most of his judges on the bench. That makes him a great domestic policy president? No dice.
11 & 12 are again personal traits.
The Imperial Federal Governments size, scope, and power has exploded under Bush. He has accomplished more of the liberals governmental goals that they themselves could have ever dreamed of doing in such a short period of time.
President Bush, while he has my vote and full support, is not a conservative nor a great President on the domestic side.
Like I said friend, I did not want to waste your time or mine in listing domestic accomplishments that President Bush has attained. You asked me, and I stated just a handful. There are pages full of goals met that I could list, but I "think" that I know your positions on most of these issues. I am no more likely to change your mind, than you are mine.
I am satisfied that we have far more in common politically than not. The bottom line is that we must get President Bush re-elected, or we will cease to exist in any recognizable way to today's world. We will just have to agree to disagree on the greatness of our current President. I think that history will treat him much differently than your opinion would suppose.
On to Victory in both the Election, and the WOT!
LLS
Thats why I am voting for him and doing what I can to get others to vote for him.
We will just have to agree to disagree on the greatness of our current President.
President Bush is a great President. But his greatness is found in his determination and guidance in the WOT and reshaping the landscape of the globe. Not in domestic policy.
I think that history will treat him much differently than your opinion would suppose.
Not on domestic matters it won't.
If in his second term he can make some large advances in privatizing social security, elminating our current tax system, and keeping America out of Kyoto and Kyotos objectives out of our laws (amongst other issues) I will consider him a very successful domestic President.
