CRA Launches AdmitTheLie.com Website Targeting CBS
Conservative Group Calls On CBS To Admit It Lied and Misled
Public in Bush National Guard Document Scandal

The California Republican Assembly today launched a website calling on CBS to admit it lied by using forged documents in a report by Dan Rather attempting to discredit President Bush.

The website, www.AdmitTheLie.com, contains a form to email CBS President and CEO Lesley Moonves. In addition, CRA is making contact information for all CBS affiliates available.

“It is clear that CBS and the CBS News staff harbor intense bias against President Bush,” commented CRA President Mike Spence. “We want to give the public an opportunity to vent their frustration with a biased, and highly partisan news organization.”

“Dan Rather and CBS need to admit the lie and stop stonewalling,” he added. “If CBS wants to regain any of its lost credibility, it must take concrete action to prove it can honestly, and without bias, report the news.”

The Admit The Lie website is offering bumperstickers and signs that read “CBS Admit The Lie,” and also has a poster supporting President Bush.

CRA, the California Republican Assembly, is the state’s oldest, and largest Republican volunteer organization. The CRA is also running an online petition drive aimed at California Secretary of State Kevin Shelley, and has filed an initiative to prevent government from giving tax-funded benefits to illegal aliens.

Well, if Texas Rats are making the news, I suppose this is also appropriate.

My only problem with that is they carry half of the NFL games in our market.

I truly don't think President Bush is being given good advice on this national guard story. When a news org is basing it on documents, which the President knows _have_ to be false because he _knows_ he was never suspended from the guard, the first thing his spokesmen should have said is precisely that the President was never suspended and therefore these documents absolutely couldn't be genuine. Now the 'Rats are making this lack of denial a big issue. This non-denial, according to them, indicates that the Bush camp thinks the documents could have been real and thus there must be something accurate in the story. The President must give this flap the final kick it deserves. And Pronto, because you can rest assured that the left wing media will keep bringing it up, may be even in the debates, and it could (I think it is) have an effect. Skerry based his candidacy on his Vietnam record, and the Swift Boat attacks really hurt him. This isn't an attack on the President's military service at all -- nobody but the lefties cares about that -- it's an attack on his honesty, which they want to tarnish. And he should hammer it down now as hard as he can.

In my opinion, this would have been exactly the wrong approach to take. The only answer due a slanderous accusation such as "Do you still beat your wife?" is stony silence.

Well, maybe you can have a sign requesting that they show the NFL during Rather's time slot.

The whole point that seems to be missing from this discussion, and the reason Dan Rather can't get any mileage out of his lie, is that NO ONE CARES! We already know Bush had an alcohol and cocaine abuse problem...he admitted it years ago! I think he's a better man for overcoming those obstacles, and he has a better compassion for others with those problems. The difference between Kerry and Bush's Vietnam history, is that Kerry used a picture of Veteran's to bolster his "war hero" status, against their wishes! So they got pissed and did something about it! In my opinion, Kerry is an outright traitor to OUR Country, and at worst, Bush tried to avoid a draft. We don't have a draft today, those are volunteers fighting for our freedom. I sure as hell wouldn't join, but I'm a coward, and thank God others are fighting for my right to be a coward! At least I can admit it.
