The article is an attempt at a hit piece. But I find the quotes interesting. The left is extremely scared of this MAN.

We need Dr. Coburn, and 50 like him in the Senate.

In honor of this salon hit piece, I have just sent Dr. Coburn a nice campaign donation. We definitely need men like him if he can scare the salon crowd to this degree.

"He's a principled, pompous member," said a senior Republican staffer turned lobbyist. "He's one of those '94 guys, and there were a certain percentage of them who were so anti-system that they don't want to play the game. And from a leadership perspective and a lobbyist perspective, we don't like those kind of people ... He's going to be a frickin' nightmare in the Senate [if he wins]." I wish they all could be '94 guys.

Today's close 13 cents. Down 5 cents or 27.78%

Whoooo Hoooo!!
Dr. Coburn is just great! I just happened to be surfing the TV and ran into a C-SPAN speech he was giving - this was months ago. I was mesmerized. He was such a good speaker. He was clear and easy to understand. This guy is what the Senate needs a lot more of.
I can tell you the dems of the Senate are gonna HATE this guy because he will not put up with their foolishness .. and I predict he will be in the well of the Senate taking the dems to task more than once.

Thanks for the ping to this--great pictures! I came home Saturday night after the OU game to find that my Coburn yard sign had been deliberately ripped on both sides, so that it flapped in the wind. I had to take it down, and need to get another one.
I don't know if it was just kids around the neighborhood, or someone with ideological motivations. The former I can understand, if not excuse. But I have this nagging feeling that it might have been the latter--really infuriating.

"He's one of those '94 guys, and there were a certain percentage of them who were so anti-system that they don't want to play the game." Translation: We can't bribe them with government largesse or campaign contributions.
Now, there is such a thing as being a team player and working with others. But there's also a point where you have to be your own man.
