You're right. Clearly the documents are forged. But IMHO even it the documents were real, it wouldn't be a big problem for W. IMHO, it would be more or less as serious as the DUI charge which the Dems hauled out four years ago.

Dan Rather probably hopes that he can just eventually report that the documents are forged and it will be the end of the story. But we really need to find out who made these forged docs. This story isn't going away until we know who was behind this.
