Why Americans like George W. Bush

After spending almost two years finding fault with George Bush and his presidency, I finally decided it was time to find out why a so many people do support him. Here is what I found out:

  1. He loves and respects his wife
  2. He loves and respects his mother
  3. He loves and respects his daughters
  4. He puts you at ease with his kindness
  5. He is humble in his relationship with God
  6. He is easy to trust because he doesn't play games.

Some of Bush's accomplishments, which we all can be proud of:

  1. He changed the tone in the White House, restoring honor and dignity to the Presidency.
  2. In dealing with 9/11, President Bush united all Americans as one country. He did not rush ahead blindly, but planned and acted carefully in Afghanistan and Iraq.
  3. He led the US in the defeat of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
  4. He led the US in defeating Saddam Hussein and removed him from power in Iraq
  5. He signed two income tax cuts -- one of which was the 3rd largest tax cut in US history.
  6. He's nominating sensible judges to the bench, who interpret the law - not try to make it.
  7. He changed parts of the Forestry Management Act to allow necessary clean-up of the national forests in order to reduce fire danger.
  8. He pulled the US back away from the Kyoto "Global Warming" Treaty.
  9. He took the lead and passed the new law banning Partial Birth Abortion.
  10. He stopped the U.S. from being involved in the International Criminal Court.
  11. He stood up for 2nd amendment rights with the US Supreme Court

Specific Bush accomplishments in Iraq:

  1. Saddam is now deposed from power and can no longer hold the Middle East hostage.
  2. Uday and Qusay are dead - and no longer feeding innocent Iraqis to lions in the zoo, raping the young daughters of local leaders to force cooperation, torturing Iraq's soccer players for losing games, or murdering his critics. Millions of Iraqis no longer live in fear.
  3. A USA / Coalition program has cleared over 14,000 kilometers of Iraq's 27,000 kilometers of weed-choked canals which now irrigate tens of thousands of farms. This project has created jobs for more than 100,000 Iraqi men and women.
  4. We have restored over 90% of pre-war telephone services and are now exceeding pre-war potable water production.
  5. Over 95% of all pre-war bank customers have service and first-time customers are opening accounts daily.
  6. The Iraqi public schools are now open to both girls and boys again. Girls and women there are no longer being excluded from educational opportunities.
  7. We are facing down and defeating the terrorists in Iraq who are trying to prevent democracy from taking root there. New Iraqi leaders are taking office.
