Were Not in Lake Wobegon Anymore How did the Party of Lincoln and Liberty transmogrify into the party of Newt Gingrichs evil spawn and their Etch-A-Sketch president, a dull and rigid man, whose philosophy is a jumble of badly sutured body parts trying to walk?

Mr. Keillor is a sad, bitter, aging, has-been leftist. I will not read his article, as I do have high blood pressure. I already know what it says, anyway.

This gang of Pithecanthropus Republicanii has humbugged us to death on terrorism and tax cuts for the comfy and school prayer and flag burning and claimed the right to know what books we read and to dump their sewage upstream from the town and clear-cut the forests and gut the IRS and mark up the constitution on behalf of intolerance and promote the corporate takeover of the public airwaves and to hell with anybody who opposes them. Ah, Garrison, always eloquent. A Kool-Aid drinking socialist, but eloquent, none the less. You have a problem with gutting the IRS?

The man's self-referential put-down of midwestern values is truly beloved of Liberals.
It represents exactly the type of inverted self-loathing that typifies the Liberal psyche. I say inverted because instead of the self-loathing being directed inward to the self, it is directed outward toward the "other".
That the loathing is truly self-loathing is seen in the fact that the object of the ridicule and scorn is the entire culture from which the loather took nurture and sustenance.
Keilor is like a fish mocking water.
He is stupid and contemptible.

Just another girlyman who writes like Maureen Dowd and believes he is an intellectual because he hates anyone with moral certainty.

Bipartisanship is another term of date rape, says Grover Norquist, the Sid Vicious of the GOP. I dont want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub. Keillor acts like these are bad things to say.

the misty-eyed flag-waving of Ronald Reagan who, while George McGovern flew bombers in World War II, took a pass and made training films in Long Beach. It's only fair to point out that RR made training films rather than flying planes because he was very nearly as blind as a bat. Totally unqualified to be a pilot.
