Volunteering for the military was an honorable act for you or anyone who served. I can't question your motives other than wanting to fight for your country. There are plenty of questions for your motive now and I don't need to go into that because we all know that information.
I even think your protests against the Vietnam war were honorable. You seemed so passionate about your stand against the war. You risked everything by denouncing your fight in the war and by stomping on your war comrads who fought with you.
Now you were in the war for four months. You got some medals and ribbons. I have no issue with that either, even if you did talk up the way you got them.
Now your a senator for twenty years and want to run for President. Cool, you paid your dues and have a senate record to run on. Wait, you want to run on your war record!! It was just four months. How can that possibly mold a man to become president? I worked as a host for a restaurant for about four months and hated it. That doesn't mean I can go in and take over the restaurant and run it.
What about your real record in the senate of voting for all the things you did or didn't support for the last twenty years that actually helped shape the country? You think now that you run for the most powerful position in the world, you can run on the four months in the military that you hated.
I have a problem with this. Why would you do that? I understand that you are a liberal senator and most of America is not liberal. You still have to run on the facts of your record which cannot be denied. You may not like the way your voting history plays out or some actions in the senate, too bad.
John Kerry stand up and be a man. Face your demons. A man will fight for his belief and not run from his actions. You can't have it both ways. Stop using your war comrads like puppets on a string. They are not helping you. You are so transparent that even your liberal peers can see through you.
You see, people either like or don't like a man who takes a stand and fights for what he believes is right. George Bush has taken a stand for this nation and each American. He stands against those who try to kill us for our belief in freedom. Bush may not be the most popular man in the world. Guess what, that is a chance he was willing to take. He did't wait for a focus group to make a decision, he just made it.
You see integrity doesn't have to wait on which side is right before a decision is made. If you have integrity you just know what is right. Bush made sound decisions at a time when tough decisions had to be made.
The terrorist brought this war to America. And now Bush has taken the war to them. I don't have faith that you would to the same.
