Gotta love the first sentence. The link may be a bit sloppy. It seems it is not specific to this article. You may have to tab down on the linked page.

Kerry has sued his former Navy Swiftboat group to stop a TV ad exposing his war record in Vietnam as a fraud.
Is that right? I thought the intent was to sue the station if they played the ad.

...? I don't see any link (or cited source) actually
stating that Kerry has made the unbelievably stupid misstep of SUING the Swift Boat Vets; just the writer's contention that he has done so.
Mind, now: I'm certainly not saying Kerry's too smart to do something like this -- just look at what he ended up marrying, after all :) -- but: no one else has yet reported anything along these lines (have they)...?

Question ... is this article for real?

To sue the vets just makes Kerry look petty. Still, I'd like to see more about his time with Jane Fonda and the "Let's Hate America" crowd. I'll be he said some pretty awful things about his fellow vets and America as a whole.

Well, the article is real. However, I know of no source that states that Kerry actually has sued. I'll try to dig deeper. This Gordon Bishop guy seems to have a great bio and credentials. I asked on another thread if any FReeper is familiar with him.

It frankly reads like midgrade college journalism.

Kerry's also said that if the US is attacked with nuclear weapons, he won't respond. Hardly reassuring, but on the other hand, maybe he'll flip flop again. Or maybe not.

...calling his comrades in arms murderers, rapists, torturers destroying families and villages during his four months in service. If Kerry knows of these atrocities firsthand, that means he either participated in them or stood by and watched as others others did.
Either way, he is not fit to be leader of anything, let alone the free world.
If he heard of these things second-hand, then they are merely heresay and should not be used in sworn testimony before Congress.

"All of this has been documented in a new book just released on Kerrys war record titled Unfit To Be Commander".
The author did get the title of the Swifties book incorrect, however.

...documented in a new book just released on Kerrys war record titled Unfit To Be Commander...I agree with you. It's amateurish.
The actual title is "Unfit For Command"

The article doesn't give details of the suit, but if it's for libel, then the onus would be on Kerry to prove that they knew what they said was untrue when they said it. That would also require him to produce documents and for everyone involved to take the stand and testify. He can afford to do neither, because the documents would probably show that he originated the paperwork, and it would be a disaster for his flip-flopping, lying @#$ to take the stand.

Has Kerry sued anyone over the commercial or book? I don't think he has. (I imagine the last thing in the world he wants is to be called to testify under oath and be proven the liar he is).
