It shows that Alston was not a member of Kerry's crew in March. Was he in January or February? I don't know and no one has presented evidence that he was somewhere else. I would absolutely love it if they did but I have not seen it. The only evidence I saw was that he was hit before Kerry took over. That is not proof we can go in front of the press with.
Just a point to ponder: Suppose the picture is real, the date-time is wrong, Kerry just happens to be there...
