Hey, I agree with you that human life begins at conception. The only reason I didn't use the correct scientific term was because I forgot what it was at the very earliest stage. I'm pro-life, I was just asking about IVF, because what the original poster was saying didn't sound right to me... but like I said, I'm not an expert on this particular issue.

To be even more precise, AT LEAST ONE HUMAN LIFETIME BEGINS AT CONCEPTION. I meant nothing personal to you with my remarks, I just take any opportunity to clarify the terms and issues, to reveal the facts as they pertain rather than allow ambiguities to carve niches of false data. The term 'fertilized egg' is another false term ... once fertilization occurs, even as the process of mitosis begins, there is no longer an egg (egg in this sense also being false since we aren't talking about chickens or reptiles). The only thing of the ovum (the 'egg' of your phrase) left following conception is the zona pellucida and the polar body of half the chromosomes of the previous female sex cell. The alive embryo will exit the zona pellucida upon arriving at the uterus and absorbing uterine fluids, thence to seek life support from mother by burrowing into her uterine tissues (hopefully, rather than into some other tissues, like the liver).

If you would like to read much more on these topics (IVF, ESCR, and cloning), there is a free manuscript for downloading or reading on the net, at http://weneedtalk.blogspot.com (CLICK HERE) . I wrote it to be a lay-person's guide to the technical stuff. Feel free to copy it and read it then share it with others. Thank you for this extra opportunity to address these topics.

Such humility is refreshing and rare at this site. Thank you.
