rights earned by blood, by those willing to die for a higher cause

If you want Americans to die for say ten thousand Moslem Iraqis, who are politically opposing Saddam; Would you think it would be morally acceptable to all Americans to send our soldiers to die for 2 million defenseless Christian Sudanese by its Arab Moslem government? I just was curious to ask? Unless you are a Moslem or a Christian hater, you should rather support the innocent defenseless Christian Sudanese. As far a conscious go?

Sorry, but Sudan really isn't a vital aspect of our national interest compared to the Persian Gulf. And a funny thing happens when the national security interests of this country coincide with taking out a ruthless dictator and restoring human rights to people - you get enough public support to sustain the conduct of the war despite casualties - that's what happened during WWII and that happened again during this conflict, despite the best efforts of the liberals to sabotage public support by magnifying the good news and burying the good news. And that's why Clinton was so worried about casualities during Kosovo - because we had absolutely NO vital interests in that area, so we had no business being there.
