Seattle Community Center Calls for Victory to Iraqi Insurgents

The New Freeway Hall Community Center in Seattle, WA has long been a haven and meeting place for those on the leftist fringe. After all this is the meeting place for the “Seattle Radical Women” and the Freedom Socialist Party. Provocative and sometimes silly posters and banners are the norm in the large show window in front of the Hall. Prior to the recent Abortion March on Washington a sign graced their window informing passers by that this is the home of “Radical Feminists for Reproductive Freedom”

But in the past week the window dressing has taken on a more incendiary tone. Currently posted on the window facing bustling Rainier Avenue is a sign calling for “Victory to the Iraqi Resistance!” When asked about the sign, one local explained “this part of Seattle is very liberal and very easygoing; it would take a lot more than a sign like that to get this neighborhood’s attention.” But one neighbor disagreed telling us “I have to drive by that place every day, and to be honest I find it disgusting. For the Iraqi Resistance to win means that America would have to lose, it’s like calling for the death of Americans. But they have the right to their opinion, that’s what our soldiers are fighting for.”

BTW, I finally got my mitts on a copy of your book. It's been rainy here the past few days, so I've been walking the treadmill in lieu of my favored outdoor exercises. I like to read while on the treadmill, and by the time I looked up from the pages of Enemies: Foreign and Domestic, the treadmill indicated that I'd walked 8 miles! Very engrossing stuff. And all too possible.

It never ceases to amaze me how these people STAY HERE and make these glorious claims. If they think it's such a wonderful society GO OVER THERE. ...some prefer shooting for the honourable ones, hanging for the rest. Others say the bayonet is preferred, as it's less noisy and offers an introduction to the realities of the job at hand to rookies. Freepers, what say ye?

Fortunately, any of the above would be a good decision. However, I'm thinking that a WWI-era sawtooth bayonet would be especially terrifying to those who deserve to be skewered.

Ah yes. The Swiss M1914 Pioneer's bayonet- Combat Engineer's, to Americans- should do nicely in that role....
