I should have posted a link to DU's thread on Pat Tillman. There is definitely a potential for lunacy there, sad to say.

Heres one. granted its kind of tame by DU standards (or lack of). But, it does show just how out of touch they are about the draft. How quick they forget it was their party that is talking about a draft not the GOP.

If Bush wins, there's only 343 DAYS LEFT before he reinstates the DRAFT!

For 6 months now, I have been predicting that Bush will ask Congress on April 1, 2005 for the reinstatement of the DRAFT. "We're not going to cut and run from Iraq--that's why I'm asking you to reauthorize conscription", he'll say--and they'll give it to him or be unpatriotic.

The SSS FY 2004 plan reduces the DRAFT ACTIVATION time down from the current 6 months to just 75 days by March 31, 2005. On that day the SSS must report to the Director that the whole machinery is oiled up and ready to go by June 15, 2005.

Expect that date, the earliest possible date we can conscript (without giving away the GOP playbook), to be the first DRAFT LOTTERY since 1973. Any male out there who will be 20 anytime during 2005 is eligible. A Medical and Special Skill DRAFT will induct tens of thousands of male and female doctors, nurses, programmers, engineers and linguists under the age of 45. You would have to sign up at the local PO if those occupations are listed on your IRS form. The deadline for YOU signing up would be May 1, 2005 if what I predict comes to pass.

Did I mention that the Pentagon could ask for many other occupations they have a shortage of?

Now don't forget that Kerry has his NO-DRAFT PLAN that I explained yesterday, so no posts on him drafting too, unless you can explain why his NO-DRAFT PLAN will not work--which means you first have to go over his 40,000 troop plan and Civilian Stability Corps idea and really know it.

BUSH 'O4 = DRAFT 04/01/05

gays are to republicans as jews were to nazis. discuss.

before jews were sent off to concentration camps, they were subjected to a series of humiliations, restrictions, loss of rights, loss of property, and loss of freedoms.

but it was gradual. the latest change was never so drastic from the way it was just prior for the german people to object loudly enough.

so it is with gays today.

based solely on their private desires, gays can be barred from holding a variety of jobs, none of which have anything whatsoever to do with those private desires.

we already know about the violence and abuse, verbal and otherwise, heaped on gays. it's tough being gay in this society. i'm willing to bet that teenage suicides are heavily disproportionately gay.

and now, if michigan has its way, health professionals -- apparently even including emergency room personal and emts -- can refuse to treat gays and not face any punishment whatsoever, indeed, the state will actually protect them from punishment.

that's right. apparently they want to make michigan safe for doctors who like to sit and watch gays die instead of even attempting to help them.

just like doctors in nazi germany refused to treat jews.

hmm. iiiiiinteresting.

were i president, i would cut off highway funds and all state aid until michigan stepped back from the evil abyss. sadly, to bozo currently at 1600 pennsylvania will likely applaud the action. hell, it was probably rove's idea in the first place....
