Consider that the Y chromosome has proportionately more junk DNA that the other chromosomes.

Two things come to mind.

But there is some good news. The few chromosomes that are on the Y are there in duplicate and there is some kind of self-recombination that takes place, effectively screening out errrors. No chromosome partner needed.
