SONbrad, I came back again because something's been bothering me.
I want to apologize to you on behalf of real, and loving Christians who model Jesus Christ for the bludgeoning and accusations of those who claim to be of Christ, but belie that claim in every angry and demeaning word they say.

Thanks. Sadly, I don't think ANYTHING is going to get through to some of these folks. They don't understand that if Bustamante or Davis wins, that it is a LOSS for us. Amazing isn't it? I just keep shaking my head. Losing for a third time is un-acceptable. It will be a sad day for this state,. but we will survive it somehow. We always do.

Thank you very much for your kind words.
As I said before, I have friends of all races and creeds, liberals and conservatives, gay and straight, vets, non-vets, etc.
As a black conservative I am very concerned about people such as "exmarine" that gives our party, AND conservatives a bad name and prevents the party from gaining more members and also prevents more people from understanding conservatives as a whole.
It is people such as "exmarine" that makes black conservatives such as Walter Williams and Clarence Thomas appear to be "uncle Toms" to other blacks because they associate Republicans and Conservatives with his type of racist and abusive behavior.
I am sorry to go on like this but it saddens me that many times his type of voice is the loudest within the party and within the conservative movement.
As for the gay adoption issue, there are thousands of children waiting to be adopted. If a gay person can provide a child with a loving, stable home, then I say, "why not". There are gay people that should not adopt, just as there are straight people that should not adopt. Just as there are black people, white people, and asian people that should not adopt. Children need homes and loving parents. When I was adopted my parents endured abuse and hate-speech from many people just like "exmarine". I see it happening again today from people that proclaim their "moral superiority" over others while acting in a most non-Christian way. It hurts me, and it hurts this wonderful country of which I was proud to serve.
Thank you again....I am also proud to be a member of the Republican party with members such as yourself.

The ultra rightist hate-filled folks are part of the reason there are so few Walter Williams' and Clarence Thomas' in the Conservative movement.
Their loud, angry (and yes, racist) voices drown out the majority of us who speak with reasoned voice about the advantages that conservatism brings to blacks......self-respect, self-reliance, self-advancement, economic opportunity, TRUE equality.
The goals of Martin Luther King, Jr. are only fulfilled within the Republican party.......especially the conservative wing of the party. Liberals seek to keep all minorities subservient to government, and do everything possible to keep them from true advancement.
As to the gay adoption issue, I disagree with you, but understand where you're coming from on it because, on the surface, at least, it does seem that having someone love a child in a home is better than being in an institution. (My contention is that more Christian heterosexual couples should adopt, and give these kids good homes......and I indict myself with those words).
You know, there is a way to disagree, and discuss things with respect, but one thing I've learned about these far right 'conservatives,' is that name calling and ad hominem attacks are their FIRST response, and only once in a while can you persist long enough to get a civil discussion from them. And with some, it's impossible, because they don't have a civil bone in their bodies.
Most of my friends here keep telling me to avoid them, and stay off the threads where they hang out (because they are nasty people as a rule), but if I had done that on this thread, I would never have met you. :o)
Hang in there, and stay with the party that respects, and wants the BEST for you.........even if there are racist wingnuts trying to beat you up here (they don't just hate you......they hate everybody.....and most likely themselves).
They don't speak for the majority. They just yell the loudest.

Well, you lied. You did call me a name first "zealot". You never answered any argument. You are really pretty foolish, and am sure will be banned from here as being a troll and disrupter pretty soon. So enjoy while you can. I wish you had the ability to debate with reason and analsyis. I pity you.
Most likely, you don't even understand any of the postings, but have been programmed to keep saying the same thing, as that is what you do. Very sad. I hate to see americans without the ability to think.

I give up trying to discuss anything rationally with you... you are all unproven assertions and spin. I can prove you wrong on every point but I know it would be time wasted, I've seen you just ignore the evidence that others give you.
Good day.

As for your continued arguments about Arnold's being too far left, isn't this whole recall about California's financial situation NOT ABOUT SOCIAL ISSUES?!!!
It's the SOCIAL ISSUES that have created the FINANCIAL SITUATION in the first place. If Arnie's $450,000,000 per year gift to the California taxpayer is an example of his "fiscal Conservatism", I'll take a pass.
To: Tamsey
You can't...that's the point...because Arnold isn't a conservative.
He's another Riordan-type. If we're lucky he won't have so obviously and completely supported Democrats over Republicans as Riordan has.
We do know Riordan and Arnold are good friends.

I remember the Arnold supporters were ranting and raving that McClintock's supporteres just like the Buchanan brigagers. They were simply minded extreme kool-aid drinkers that would soon be posting stuff like "Arnold = NWO = Clinton" after the Buchanan brigager logo "Bush = NWO = Clintoon"
That hasn't happened though. Nobody is running around going "ArNolD is tHe NWO!!!! " or silly babble like that.
Instead we hear:
.."TOM McSELFISH = ...Gov. BustaMENCHA"
Go figure.
