I think you misunderstood the point of my post. I did not say the schools were dumbed down at all. I was being sarcastic. Take another look at what I said.

Just got back from an EMA meeting, Electronic Manufaturers Association. We got the grand tour of the ME 262 project, they are reproducing 5 of them.
VERY cool stuff, but it is over 85 miles from my house, so have had a VERY long day.

These are reproductions, they are actually bulding them from the original blueprints, and machining each and every part from scratch. It was fun to see it, but it was an exhausting day!! LOL
Oh, and also got a look at a B-52 up and personal, it is sitting on the runway at Paine field awaiting restoration for show at the Boeing Museum in Seattle. Those things are BIG!!
