Pagan band demands 'quiet area for sex'
A pagan rock band is demanding a "quiet area for fornication" during a summer solstice celebration in Birmingham.
The event, billed as a family fun day out, has been condemned by the Church of England, reports the Birmingham Evening Mail.
Headliners Inkubus Sukkubus demanded the "fornicatorium" at the event, which is being held to mark the longest day of the year.
Managers at the Custard Factory venue confirmed a quiet area would be provided for the group, fronted by female vocalist Candia.
A spokesman said: "They said they needed a quiet fornicatorium. They say it is a fertility rite. The singer goes into a trance-like state. We don't quite know what will happen once the frenzied activity begins."
Druids from across the country will descend on the Custard Factory for the celebration, which is billed as a perfect day out for the whole family, on Saturday.
Rhiannon Biddulph, of the UK Pagan Association, said: "There are certain festivals were we celebrate the creation of life where you have to have sex. Most pagans have a fairly relaxed attitude to sex."
But a spokesman for the Church of England in Birmingham said: "It seems the Druids have overdosed on the magic mushrooms when arranging this event. It beggars belief that this kind of tackiness and tawdriness is being promoted as a cultural family event."

Sex = life How incredibly naive.
It wasn't that long ago the AIDS activists had a slogan:
Sex=Death
You might be correct if you speceified monogamous sex but you are certainly incorrect if you think that of pagan orgies.

Main Entry: cov·et
Pronunciation: 'k&-v&t
Function: verb
Etymology: Middle English coveiten, from Old French coveitier, from coveitié desire, modification of Latin cupiditat-, cupiditas, from cupidus desirous, from cupere to desire
Date: 14th century
transitive senses
1 : to wish for enviously
2 : to desire (what belongs to another) inordinately or culpably
intransitive senses : to feel inordinate desire for what belongs to another
synonym see DESIRE
You are coveting the happiness of others, condemning them for living life according to their own principals. That the problems in the middle east are traceable to Abraham's "sin" is without doubt the most ignorant interpretation possible and hearkens back to the inquisition. You also sin by not showing love--by not admitting that you could be wrong in these matters, and instead demanding that another "read the entire Bible."
News for you Torquemada, I have! and that all sin is equally repugnant to God is an interpretation--not holy writ.
Prove me wrong with Scripture, Mr. Pharisee, and explain how Solomon with hundreds of wives and thousands of concubines producing God knows how many children is not the cause of the middle eastern conflict. Love (acceptance) would go farther to heal that situation, rather than your puritanical viewpoint.

Even the Arabs will tell you that they are the children of Ishmael, and the Jews are the children of Isaac. Twigs is right in that respect.

How incredibly naive. you're projecting your own naievete. The products of sex surround you and you would believe that sex = death. That problems of the world are to be blamed on sex outside of marriage is laughable.
Crime and sin are similar but not equal. IOW sex outside of marriage is sin, but not on the level of murder, thievery, or coveteousness.

So did Abraham sin with the handmaid? and if so, are all Arabs condemned by that sin?
It's a sin to use the name of the Lord in vain. The pharisees on this thread use their interpretation of the Bible to "explain" the problems between Jews and Arabs. They curse the Arab with their words using the Bible as justification. This is sin. Still, fatuity is a guarded political right among the political right. and i say this as a proud neo-conservative.
An Aids activist saying sex = death must be talking about gay sex. Of course, the puritans have killed off the fornicators years ago.

Imagine the Christian church taking on that atittude. No wonder the Church has so many hang-ups concerning sex. It is trying to distance itself from Paganism. Actually, the Catholic Church does not have any hangups about sex in marriage. They are against premarital sex.
If they had hangups about sex, they wouldn't have welcomed all those pesky sex products in a marrage. You know what I'm talking about, children.

1 John 3:4
sin is the transgression of the law.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 1
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: for Jew first, and then Greek.
17 For in it is revealed the righteousness of God from faith to faith; as it is written, "The one who is righteous by faith will live."
18 The wrath of God is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
19 For what can be known about God is evident to them, because God made it evident to them.
20 Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result, they have no excuse;
21 for although they knew God they did not accord him glory as God or give him thanks. Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened.
22 While claiming to be wise, they became fools
23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or of snakes.
24 Therefore, God handed them over to impurity through the lusts of their hearts 15 for the mutual degradation of their bodies.
25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and revered and worshiped the creature rather than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
These are just some scripture references. If a person does not want to understand what the Bible has to say about sin--or anything for that matter--then they will not see it. The Bible, like anything worthwhile, does not spit out easy answers. It requires genuine study. If you really care about the nature of sin, then you will be open to truly study God's word.
I wish you all the best in your studies.
