Yet for some reason you buy into and venerate the justifications for crime offered by a criminal named Abe Lincoln on a daily basis around here. Go figure.

RB: Even Lincoln acknowledges he did unconstitutional things. In his own words:

I felt that measures, otherwise unconstitutional, might become lawful, by becoming indispensable to the preservation of the constitution, through the preservation of the nation. Right or wrong, I assumed this ground, and now avow it.
