No man has more influence on the institutions and development of our nation to this day. His financial system determined how the country would develope economically. It determined the ratio of financial strength between the N. and S. in the Civil War. The democratic-republican party was created specifically to thwart his policies which were those implemented during Washington's presidency and the first 3 years of Adams.

Even his enemies implicitly, and explicitly, admitted the insitutions and plans were correct following his death. After Jefferson stumbled into the Louisiana Purchase Hamilton was happy to see the utility in the National Bank as it provided funds for the deal.

His philosophy of legal construction of the constitution became that of Marshall's in his magnificent exegesis of that incredible document.

Of course, his role in the call for, creation and ratification of the constitution is topped by no man. And there are many other creations of this amazing man. A man of whom his most deadly enemy spoke of as "a host within himself." Merely to list all his accomplishments almost strains belief.
